Many SMT factories still handle PCB barcode, QR‑code and warning labels manually. Operators stick stickers on boards after reflow, which slows down production, brings position deviation and extra labor cost. An SMT label feeder turns your existing placement machine into an automatic labeling station without adding separate equipment.
How it integrates with the placement machine
The label feeder is mounted onto the feeder slot of your SMT placement machine, just like a normal component feeder. It is mechanically and electrically matched for specific machine brands: Yamaha, JUKI, Samsung(Hanwha), Fuji, Panasonic or ASM(Siemens). One feeder only fits its corresponding machine series.
Loaded with label roll, the feeder automatically feeds and peels labels from release liner. When the production program calls for labeling action, the placement head picks up the exposed label, then places it onto the target position of PCB board directly. The whole labeling process runs inline with normal component placement. No offline manual station is needed.
What you can achieve
1. Full inline automation
Labeling happens inside the SMT machine, synchronized with your pick‑and‑place cycle. No stop‑and‑wait for manual operation.
2. Consistent labeling accuracy
Machine‑driven placement keeps label position stable, avoids skewed, offset or reversed stickers caused by human error.
3. Save workshop space & labor
No extra labeling workstation, no dedicated workers for sticker application. Reduce labor expense on high‑volume production.
4. Support multiple label types
Works for PCB barcodes, QR‑code labels, serial number stickers and warning tags, within the feeder’s supported label width & length range.
Practical notes for daily use
- You must select the feeder model matching your exact placement machine model. Cross‑brand installation will not work.
- Check label dimension is within feeder specification. Over‑size labels will cause jamming or peeling failure.
- Standard release‑paper sticker labels work best. Inform your supplier if you use special‑thickness or heavy‑adhesive labels.
If you want to add automatic PCB labeling capability to your existing SMT line, you do not have to buy a new dedicated labeling machine. A compatible SMT label feeder is a cost‑effective upgrade solution. Send us your machine model and label size requirement for free quotation.
